SUSTAINABILITY

Giving Back to the Source.

To Drink from Nature

Is to Protect It.

Ziro Mineral Water is more than a product — it is a covenant. A promise to honor the land that offers its purity. Every drop we bottle, every path we build, is done with care, humility, and ecological foresight.

In Ziro Valley, water is sacred — guided gently by bamboo, not diverted by force. Inspired by the Apatani people’s generational harmony with nature, our approach to sustainability is rooted, not reactive.

From our sourcing practices to packaging choices and community programs, we seek balance: for people, planet, and future.

Packaging With Purpose

Bottled in BPA-free, recyclable plastic. Designed for reuse. Chosen with purpose.

While our vision is glass, our current form is lightweight, safe, and significantly lower in carbon emissions for remote transport. Each bottle is made from 100% recyclable, food-grade plastic, designed to minimize impact and maximize convenience — especially in regions where glass is logistically unviable.

Fully recyclable (PET)

BPA-free & toxin-free

Lightweight for reduced emissions

Labels printed with non-toxic ink

Refill-friendly for conscious reuse

We Take
Only What
Can Be
Given.

Gravity-fed. Zero pumping. Always in dialogue with the land.

Our water is not extracted  it is invited. Flowing naturally from protected mountain springs, Ziro water reaches our collection point without mechanical interference. Traditional bamboo conduits  inspired by Apatani irrigation  guide the water gently into bottling, preserving pressure, temperature, and flow integrity.

This gravity-based collection method ensures:

  • No aquifer depletion
  • No soil destabilization
  • No damage to local ecosystems
  • Minimal energy use during sourcing

Sustainability Is a Shared
Language.

We work hand-in-hand with the people who’ve protected this valley for centuries.

The Apatani community are not stakeholders — they are stewards. We honor their deep environmental intelligence by co-developing systems, offering fair employment, and reinvesting directly into local futures.

Our Commitments Include:

  • Above-market wages for local team members

  • Annual contribution to Apatani cultural preservation funds

  • Educational support for valley children

  • Priority sourcing from local craftspeople and farmers

  • Inclusion of elders in seasonal planning dialogues

From Sustainability to Reciprocity.

We don’t just sustain — we restore. We regenerate.

Our long-term mission is to become a regenerative brand, where every bottle supports ecological healing, not just balance. This means expanding beyond neutral footprint goals and becoming an active agent of restoration.

Our Commitments Include:

  • Carbon-neutral bottling plant by 2026
  • Solar-powered logistics hub by 2027
  • Reforestation of 10 acres annually in partnership with Apatani villages
  • Launch of refill stations across Northeast India
  • Ziro Glass Line (pilot launch 2026)

The forest teaches us to take only what we need, and to offer something in return.

Apatani Elder, Hari Tamo
